I was thrilled to read this article in the Basingstoke Gazette. The piece, penned by Sophie Day, covers the background to An Ideal Informer, as well as the changes necessitated by its altered history, the extensive research, and a superb summary of the plot.
‘He said: “Other than an all-pervasive State Security, my only other changes are to the names of specific shops, pubs and streets.
“It’s easy to recognise them, though, and the interior of the Goat and Barge remains exactly as it was.”‘
